Black and White

Black and White

Someone told me

The absence of light wasn’t darkness

But rather darkness is what people need

Everyday to realize they are alive.

At the time it made sense

But it shouldn’t have.

The same person rang in my dream last night

Only to tell me darkness was a lie

And light was necessary to carry on.

I stayed up and waited for a phone call

That i knew would never come.
