Change of Heart

Change of Heart

It was a very public argument. They both stormed out of the club fuming. “What the hell was that about?” she yelled, very loudly.

“I thought I was trying to be supportive!” he yelled back at her. It was the sort of fight that neither side was going to win unless one of the suddenly decided to cut the other a break. That was unlikely.

The volume of the conflict continued to ride, and now passerby were beginning to stare. Just when it seemed that the argument could get no louder, the woman angrily thrust her arm out and deep into the torso of a nearby woman. She pulled her hand out, which now contained a beating heart that she immediately stuffed down the man’s throat. Immediately a look of concern fell over his eyes.

“God, Honey,” he said with honest concern. “You’re right. I’ve been horribly insensitive.” She smiled in a forgiving way, and they walked off together hand in hand. All it had cost was the heart of a woman. But that was okay. She had already borrowed one from some guy.
