Walls

Walls

I hit a wall the other day. It wasn’t a real wall; it was just one of those metaphorical ones they talk about. They always say you have to break through the wall when you reach it. I always think just go around the wall, or climb over it, tread lightly and hurt nothing.

But I’ve been wrong.

I always avoid the wall. Then I run into the same wall again and again. The object is not getting through the wall, it’s breaking the wall. I realize this now, seventeen years into my life, and wonder:

What could I have achieved had I just broken down the walls?
